Yes. We deliver to Sonmarg and Pahalgam for a distance-based fee, which saves carrying gear from Srinagar if you are travelling up by shared taxi. Tell us your start point and time when you book.

Yes, refundable, and it varies with the value of what you take. It can be paid in cash, by UPI or by card, and it is returned when the gear comes back. Nothing is withheld without photographs of the damage.

We stock two ratings: -5°C bags for valley and lower campsites, and -15°C bags for high camps on the Great Lakes and Tarsar Marsar routes. Tell us your route and we will match the bag to it.

Yes, and it is the most common booking we take. We fit the gear to the bike at collection so you leave with everything packed and secured rather than working it out at the roadside.

From ₹299 a day for a two-person tent, ₹399 for a three-person, ₹499 for a four-person and ₹699 for a six-person. A four-season alpine two-person tent, for high or winter camps, is ₹599 a day.

Yes. Every tent is a taped-seam waterproof design and is checked between hires. Kashmir gets sudden rain even in summer, and a tent that leaks is worse than no tent, so we pull anything doubtful out of the fleet.

No. We will pitch it with you at collection so you have done it once before you are doing it in the dark in the rain. It takes about five minutes and it is the most useful five minutes of the hire.

Normal wear is expected and not charged. Genuine damage — a torn fly, a snapped pole beyond the spare, a burnt groundsheet — is assessed against photographs taken at return and deducted from the deposit. Tell us straight away if something breaks; we would rather get you a replacement than argue later.

₹150 a day for a -5°C bag and ₹250 a day for a -15°C bag. A liner is included free with both. Sleeping mats hire separately from ₹100 a day.

The -15°C bag. The high camps on that route sit above 3,500 m and drop below freezing at night even in peak summer. A -5°C bag will leave you awake and cold for eight nights.

Yes, every one, and every hire includes a fresh liner as well. If a bag comes back and cannot be properly cleaned in time, it does not go out again until it has been.

Yes, and people underestimate this. Most of the cold you feel at night comes from the ground, not the air. A ₹100 foam mat makes more difference to how warm you sleep than upgrading the bag does.

From ₹600 a day for an electric bike and ₹900 for a scooter, up to ₹1,800 a day for a Royal Enfield Himalayan. A Classic 350 is ₹1,500. Fuel is not included; insurance is ₹100 a day.

A valid driving licence carrying the correct motorcycle class, one government photo ID, and a refundable deposit. Foreign visitors also need an International Driving Permit and their passport. Our full guide covers the licence classes in detail.

Yes, on the Himalayan, subject to the road being open and to agreeing the route with us first. Zojila closes for weather and convoy movement, and we will tell you honestly whether the timing works before you book.

Yes, across Srinagar and to Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg for a distance-based fee. Collection from Karan Nagar is free.

Yes, refundable, and it varies by machine — larger touring motorcycles carry larger deposits. It is returned at the end of the hire once the bike has been checked over. Cash and UPI deposits come back the same day; card refunds take three to seven working days.

Yes. We bring the bike to the nearest ghat to your houseboat rather than expecting you to cross the lake with luggage. Give us the ghat name and a time when you book.

About two hours for the roughly 50 km, longer on a scooter or if the Tangmarg stretch is busy. It is an easy day ride and the road is in reasonable condition throughout.

Only an electric bike. Low-speed e-bikes limited to 250 W and 25 km/h are exempt from licensing under Indian law. Every scooter and motorcycle in the fleet requires a licence with the correct motorcycle class.

₹1,800 per day, which includes two helmets, a rear luggage rack and a toolkit. Insurance is ₹100 a day on top, and side panniers are ₹200 a day. Fuel is not included.

Yes, subject to Zojila being open and the route being agreed with us in advance. The pass runs roughly May to October and closes at short notice for weather and convoys. We will give you a straight answer on whether your dates work.

No limit on hires of three days or more. Shorter hires carry a daily allowance, which we will tell you at booking. Distance is checked against the odometer at handover and return.

An MCWG class on your Indian licence — motorcycle with gear. An LMV car licence does not cover it. Foreign visitors need an International Driving Permit alongside their national licence.

Roughly June to September. The high passes on the Great Lakes route hold snow into June some years, and weather closes in from late September. July and August are the most reliable.

Moderate to challenging. It is not technical — no ropes, no climbing — but it is around 75 km over seven or eight days with several pass crossings above 4,000 m. You need to be comfortable walking six to eight hours a day on consecutive days.

Yes. Plenty of people walking with other operators hire their sleeping bag, mat or rucksack from us, because most trek packages do not include a bag warm enough for the high camps. See our camping gear rental page.

Requirements vary by route and change from season to season. On a guided trek we handle it. If you are walking independently, confirm the current position locally before you set out rather than relying on an old blog post.

Pahalgam along the Lidder valley, Sonmarg near the Thajiwas glacier, and the Gulmarg meadows are the three we run. All are within a few hours of Srinagar and accessible by road.

At established campsites with an operator, yes — these are ordinary tourist areas with regular visitors. The real considerations are weather and cold rather than anything else. Our safety guide covers this honestly.

Yes, at Gulmarg from December through February, with the right equipment. It is genuinely cold and not a first camping trip — but it is spectacular, and we provide four-season tents and -15°C bags for it.

Not for an organised trip — tents and bedding are provided. If you would rather camp independently we rent everything you need, from a two-person tent at ₹299 a day to a complete kit at ₹899.

Not currently. Everything is sold over the counter in Srinagar. Message us on WhatsApp to check stock and prices before visiting, and we will hold an item for you.

If you camp once or twice a year, rent — a good tent and two sleeping bags cost more than most Kashmir trips. If you are out most weekends, buying pays for itself quickly. We do both, so we have no reason to push you either way.

We rent ski and snowboard equipment for the Gulmarg winter season from December through February, and stock cold-weather layers year round. Ask us about the current season.
