About Nomad
Nomad is an adventure company based at Lake City Plaza, Karan Nagar, Srinagar. It rents motorcycles, scooters and e-bikes, hires and sells camping and trekking equipment, and runs guided treks and camping trips across Kashmir. Everything is owned and operated directly rather than brokered to other shops.
One place for the whole trip
Most operators in the valley do one thing. Somebody rents you a motorcycle, somebody else rents a tent, a third company sells you the boots, and a fourth guides the trek. Four conversations, four deposits, four sets of things that can go wrong.
Nomad does all of it. You can hire a Himalayan, a two-person tent and two sleeping bags in the same five-minute conversation, and we fit the gear to the bike before you leave. That is the entire idea.
We own what we rent
Every bike and every piece of equipment belongs to us. There are no partner shops and no commission taken from someone else’s inventory. When you book a specific motorcycle you get that motorcycle — its registration, its odometer, its own photographs — not whatever is free that morning.
It also means one person is accountable when something breaks. There is nobody to point at.
How we work
- Deposits come back. Refundable, returned at the end of the hire, and nothing is withheld without photographs of the damage taken at return.
- Your documents stay with you. We photograph a licence and ID; we never keep originals. You may be asked for them at a checkpoint, and being unable to produce a passport is a real problem.
- We will talk you out of a bad plan. If your dates do not work, if Zojila is likely to be shut, or if the trek is more than you have described, we would rather say so and lose the booking.
