Which bike for which trip
For Srinagar city, the Dal Lake loop and short runs to the Mughal gardens, a scooter or an e-bike is genuinely the better tool — easier to park, cheaper, and no licence needed for the electric ones.
For Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg day rides, a Classic 350 or an Avenger is comfortable on the highway and fine on the approach roads.
For Sonmarg onwards, Zojila and the run towards Leh, take the Himalayan. It is the only bike in the fleet built for that surface with luggage on the back, and the difference over 400 km of broken road is not subtle.
Every bike is a specific machine
When you book a Himalayan with us you get that Himalayan — with its registration, its odometer reading and its own photographs, not whatever happens to be free that morning. You can see its condition before you arrive and there is no substitution at the counter.

Common questions
How much does it cost to rent a bike in Kashmir?
From ₹600 a day for an electric bike and ₹900 for a scooter, up to ₹1,800 a day for a Royal Enfield Himalayan. A Classic 350 is ₹1,500. Fuel is not included; insurance is ₹100 a day.
What documents do I need to rent a bike?
A valid driving licence carrying the correct motorcycle class, one government photo ID, and a refundable deposit. Foreign visitors also need an International Driving Permit and their passport. Our full guide covers the licence classes in detail.
Can I take a rented bike from Srinagar to Leh?
Yes, on the Himalayan, subject to the road being open and to agreeing the route with us first. Zojila closes for weather and convoy movement, and we will tell you honestly whether the timing works before you book.
Do you deliver bikes to hotels?
Yes, across Srinagar and to Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg for a distance-based fee. Collection from Karan Nagar is free.
Is a deposit required, and when do I get it back?
Yes, refundable, and it varies by machine — larger touring motorcycles carry larger deposits. It is returned at the end of the hire once the bike has been checked over. Cash and UPI deposits come back the same day; card refunds take three to seven working days.
